Haiger Map Poster & Print
Haiger lies in the Lahn-Dill district in the far northwest of Hesse, close to the borders with North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. The town sits in the valley of the river Dill, and its map follows the valley: a compact centre on the lower ground, with newer districts spreading up side valleys and onto the lower slopes of the surrounding hills.
Three routes share the landscape here: the Dill itself, the railway between Siegen and Giessen, and the A45 motorway, which passes just west of the town on its way between the Ruhr and the Frankfurt area. Their long courses give the map a strong sense of direction, while the old town, with its church at the centre, forms a small, dense knot among them.
Beyond the centre, Haiger includes a number of villages spread across the hills, each with its own small street pattern. Forest covers much of the higher ground between them, so on a wider map the town appears as a scattering of settlements linked by winding roads. A Haiger map poster shows how closely life here follows the valleys.

Routes through the valley
The railway and the nearby A45 add firm lines across the landscape. Together with the river they form a layered transport corridor that gives the map its structure.
Hill villages
Small villages sit in the side valleys and on the slopes around the town. Linked by winding roads, they appear as separate clusters among the wooded hills.

For people from Haiger and its villages, a map that shows the valley, the hills and the scattered districts together captures what home looks like. It is a good gift for someone moving away or settling in the area.
Change the title and subtitle, perhaps to the name of a village, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the $9 HD files or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
