Haojiaqiao Map Poster & Print
Haojiaqiao lies on the Yellow River plain in Ningxia, in north-central China, south of the regional capital Yinchuan. The land here is flat and dry by nature, but centuries of irrigation have turned it into a patchwork of fields. From above, long straight canals and drainage ditches divide the countryside into rectangles. The town's streets form a small, regular grid within that larger geometric pattern.
Irrigation from the Yellow River has shaped the Ningxia plain for a very long time and made farming possible in an otherwise arid region. Towns like Haojiaqiao serve the surrounding agricultural communities, and their roads link fields, villages and larger centres across the plain.
A Haojiaqiao map poster is a study in straight lines. Canals, field boundaries and roads cross one another at clean angles, while the town grid sits as a denser block in the middle. The overall effect is calm and architectural, a landscape organised by water.
