Hoddesdon Map Poster & Print
Hoddesdon lies in east Hertfordshire, along the western side of the River Lea. The town's map shows a long historic high street running north to south, with residential areas spreading out on either side. To the east, the Lea Valley opens into a network of river channels, lakes and marshes, while the A10 bypass forms a clear line to the west.
The town grew as a stopping point on the old road north from London, and its centre still has the outline of a traditional market town. The Lee Valley Regional Park runs along its eastern edge, with former gravel pits now turned into lakes, and the remains of Rye House, linked to a seventeenth-century plot against the king, stand nearby.
A Hoddesdon map poster sets the compact town beside the open, watery landscape of the valley. The street pattern is dense in the centre and more relaxed toward the edges, and the lakes of the Lea Valley add large calm shapes to the composition. It is a map with a pleasing mix of town and countryside.
