Hornsby Map Poster & Print
Hornsby sits on the ridge of Sydney's Upper North Shore, about 25 kilometres northwest of the city centre. On a map the railway is its spine: the Main North line and the North Shore line meet at Hornsby station. The Pacific Highway runs alongside, and the town centre, with its large shopping centre and civic buildings, sits between them.
From that central ridge the land drops into steep, wooded gullies. Creeks run through Berowra Valley bushland to the west and north, and toward Ku-ring-gai Chase to the east. The old Hornsby Quarry, a large former pit west of the centre, has been filled and reshaped into parkland. Streets follow the ridges, and bush fills the valleys between them.
A Hornsby map poster shows this ridge-and-gully pattern well. Streets branch along the high ground like fingers, while the valleys between them are left almost blank. The rail lines add strong, confident curves. In monochrome it is one of Sydney's most interesting suburban maps: half town, half bush, and very clearly shaped by the land.

Ridge-top streets
Residential streets follow the high ground in branching patterns and stop where the land drops into gullies. The layout reads like the shape of the terrain.
Bushland valleys
Wooded creeks and valleys surround the suburb and connect to larger bushland reserves. They leave wide, calm spaces around the streets on the poster.

Hornsby is a meeting point between the city and the bush, and people who live there tend to value both. A map poster suits a family home on the North Shore, or a former resident who misses the bush tracks and the train rides into the city.
