Hünfeld Map Poster & Print
Hünfeld lies in the Fulda district of eastern Hesse, in the valley of the Haune, a tributary of the Fulda River, between the Rhön and the Knüll hills. It is an old market town, and its compact historic centre is still easy to pick out on a map, with newer neighbourhoods spreading around it.
The railway between Fulda and Bebra runs through the valley here, and roads fan out to surrounding villages across a landscape of fields and wooded hills. Hünfeld is also connected with Konrad Zuse, the computer pioneer who lived in the town and after whom its local museum is named.
A Hünfeld map poster shows the classic structure of a small German town: a tight medieval core, a ring of later streets, the curve of the river and the straight line of the railway. It is detailed enough to reward close viewing and simple enough to read from across a room.

Haune valley
The Haune winds through the valley beside the town, adding a soft natural line along which roads and the railway also run.
Fulda–Bebra railway
The railway crosses the valley in a long straight line, linking Hünfeld to Fulda and giving the poster a strong directional stroke.
