Manchester Ship Canal
The canal forms the town's southern boundary, a wide and deliberately straight channel that appears on the map as a strong band cutting across the lower edge of the frame.

Irlam Map Poster & Print
Irlam sits at the south-western edge of the City of Salford, on flat ground where the Manchester Ship Canal curves past on its way to the Mersey estuary. From above, the town is a band of terraces and later estates squeezed between the broad canal channel to the south and the open mossland that stretches north towards Chat Moss.
Industry shaped this map. The canal brought ships inland from the 1890s, and for much of the twentieth century a large steelworks stood beside the water before it closed in 1979. The land it used has since changed, but the straight lines of rail, road and waterway still set the direction of the streets around them.
An Irlam map poster shows a place defined by its edges: the wide, steady line of the canal and its locks, the railway running east to Manchester and west to Liverpool, and the neighbouring streets of Cadishead running into Irlam's own. In black and white, the contrast between dense housing and empty mossland reads especially clearly.

Mossland to the north
Beyond the housing, the flat drained peat of Chat Moss opens out into long field boundaries and farm tracks, giving the poster a quiet, sparsely drawn upper half.
Rail and road lines
The Liverpool–Manchester railway and the main road through Irlam and Cadishead run roughly parallel, giving the town a clear east–west spine that organises its side streets.

ඇයි Irlam
අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
Irlam is a place people tend to know closely, whether they grew up near the canal, worked at the old steelworks or moved into one of the newer estates. A map of its streets and waterways is a quiet, specific way to keep that connection on the wall.
The poster can carry your own title, a subtitle such as a family name or a moving date, and a coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room, and order it as a $9 digital file or a printed poster.
