Branching road network
Main roads run through the area with smaller lanes branching off irregularly, forming a pattern that reads more like a tree or a river system than a grid.

Isieke Map Poster & Print
Isieke is in Ebonyi State in southeastern Nigeria, in the area around the state capital, Abakaliki. The land is low and gently rolling, cut by small streams, and much of it is farmed. From above, the settlement is more of a network than a compact grid, with roads linking clusters of houses spread out among fields and trees.
The main routes carry most of the structure. Denser building lines them, and smaller lanes and footpaths branch off into residential areas. The edges of the town are soft, with built-up land fading gradually into cultivated ground so that no hard boundary appears.
An Isieke map poster shows this distinctive pattern of a southeastern Nigerian community: organic, spread out and shaped by movement between places. With fewer landmarks than a large city, the lines of the roads and the texture of the settlement carry the design.

Soft settlement edges
Houses and compounds thin out gradually into farmland, so the built-up area has no sharp outline and blends into the surrounding landscape.
Streams and low ground
Small watercourses wind through the gently rolling terrain, and roads and buildings tend to follow the higher, drier ground between them.
