Iwatsuki Map Poster & Print
Iwatsuki was an independent city until 2005, when it merged into Saitama City and became Iwatsuki Ward. It lies in the eastern part of Saitama, on flat ground typical of the Kantō plain. On the map, a compact older centre around the station is surrounded by residential streets and, farther out, by fields and waterways.
The town grew around Iwatsuki Castle, and the castle grounds survive today as a park with ponds and wooded areas. At poster scale, the park forms a distinct green shape near the centre. Rivers and irrigation channels run through the low land around the ward, marking its boundaries and dividing the farmland into long strips.
Iwatsuki is best known in Japan for its dolls, especially the traditional hina dolls made for the Girls' Day festival, and it has long been one of the country's main doll-making towns. An Iwatsuki map poster shows the quieter, older side of Saitama, a castle town still visible beneath the suburban grid.

The densest streets gather around the railway station and old town, with the rail line crossing the map as a clear straight axis.
Lowland waterways
Rivers and channels run through the flat farmland at the ward's edges, dividing it into narrow fields and adding fine lines of water.
