Jijel Map Poster & Print
Jijel lies on the coast of northeastern Algeria, where the mountains of Petite Kabylie come down almost to the sea. The old town sits on a small rocky peninsula, and from there a long sandy bay curves away to the east. On a map the coastline does most of the work: a sharp headland, a smooth arc of shore and the town spread along it.
The site has been settled since antiquity. It was the Phoenician and later Roman town of Igilgili, and in the early sixteenth century it served as a base for the corsair Oruç Barbarossa. Today the town's streets fill the ground between the sea and the rising hills. A coastal road runs along the waterfront toward the port of Djen Djen further east.
West of the town the coast becomes rugged. Taza National Park is known for its cliffs and caves. A Jijel map poster frames the meeting of land and water that defines the region: a compact town, a long beach and a line of mountains that holds everything close to the shore.

Eastern bay
East of the centre, a long sandy shore curves away in a gentle arc. It is one of the cleanest coastal lines you can put on a wall.
Hills behind the town
Streets climb and then stop against the wooded slopes of Petite Kabylie, leaving the mountains as a quiet backdrop above the town.

ඇයි Jijel
අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
Jijel draws summer visitors from across Algeria to its beaches and coastal cliffs, and many families have deep roots here. A map of the town keeps the sea, the headland and the familiar streets together in one frame.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be set to your own wording, whether a family name or the year of a summer holiday. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint brings out the coastline most clearly.
