Curving hillside roads
The roads on Kadoorie Hill follow the contours in soft curves. On the poster they create a distinctive rounded pattern that looks unlike anything around it.

Kadoorie Map Poster & Print
Kadoorie Hill is a residential area in Kowloon City, just north of Mong Kok and Prince Edward. It was developed from the 1930s by the Kadoorie family as a neighbourhood of detached houses and gardens, and it has kept much of that low-density character. In a part of Hong Kong known for tower blocks, it stands out immediately on a map.
The street pattern is the key feature. Around the hill, Kowloon's roads form a tight, busy grid. On the hill itself, the roads curve gently around the slope and loop back on each other, following the terrain rather than a plan of straight lines. The effect in black and white is striking: a soft, looping shape set inside a hard urban grid.
A Kadoorie map poster appeals to residents and to anyone who admires the neighbourhood's unusual place in the city. It captures a planned garden suburb that survived as the surrounding districts grew upward, and it shows exactly how sharply the two patterns meet at the edge of the hill.

Kowloon grid around
Beyond the hill, Kowloon's dense streets form a tight, regular mesh. The contrast between that grid and the curving enclave is the heart of this design.
Garden suburb plan
Developed from the 1930s as a neighbourhood of houses and gardens, the area keeps a low density. On the map this appears as wider spacing between streets.

Kadoorie Hill is one of the few places in Kowloon where the map itself looks calm. That makes it a thoughtful print for people who lived there or who simply appreciate its unusual design within the city.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a house number or a date. Noir and Classic black & white make the contrast of street patterns especially clear. Download digital files for $9 in six print sizes.
