Kaiserstuhl Map Poster & Print
Kaiserstuhl is a small town in the canton of Aargau, on the south bank of the Rhine where the river forms the border with Germany. It is one of the smallest municipalities in Switzerland by area, so a map of it reads almost like a detailed plan: a handful of streets, the river, and the bridge leading across to the German shore.
The old town was laid out in the thirteenth century on a slope above the river. Its plan is roughly triangular, with walls and houses stepping down from an upper tower to the water. The shape is clear from above and gives the map a strong, simple geometry that larger towns rarely have.
Across the Rhine lies the German municipality of Hohentengen, so the frame naturally includes two countries joined by a single crossing. A Kaiserstuhl map poster shows the old town, the course of the river and the fields and woodland on both banks, a quiet border landscape on a single sheet.

Upper tower
A tall tower stands at the high point of the triangle. It was once part of the fortifications and marks the top of the main street that runs down toward the river.
Rhine bridge
A single road bridge crosses the Rhine to Germany and links the old town with Hohentengen, making the river the central line of the composition.

Small towns like Kaiserstuhl are often someone's home ground: the place of a first job, a family house or a regular walk by the river. The map shows that scale honestly, with every lane visible instead of lost inside a larger city.
Personalise it with a family name, a date or a short line in the subtitle, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download all six print sizes for $9 or order a matte print shipped from one of our print partners.
