Tungabhadra bank
The river runs along the northern edge of town, broad and braided with rocky channels. It gives the map a strong natural border that the street pattern bends to follow.

Kampli Map Poster & Print
Kampli lies on the south bank of the Tungabhadra River in central Karnataka, a short distance downstream from the ruins of Hampi. From above, the town is a tight cluster of lanes pressed against the water. Around it, a patchwork of irrigated fields spreads out, fed by canals from the river. The pale riverbed and its rocky channels form the clearest line on the map.
The town's name goes back further than the surrounding landscape suggests. In the fourteenth century Kampili was the seat of a small kingdom, and its fall came shortly before the rise of the Vijayanagara empire nearby. Today the old centre is a dense weave of narrow streets. Its roads fan outward to villages across the plain.
A Kampli map poster is mostly about the relationship between town and river. There is the curve of the Tungabhadra, the fine canal lines crossing the fields, and the compact core where the roads converge. It is an understated composition, well suited to someone with roots along this stretch of the river.

Canal-fed fields
Irrigation channels run across the surrounding farmland in thin, even lines. They divide the plain into long field parcels that read like fine hatching on the poster.
Dense old centre
Kampli's core is a knot of short, irregular lanes. Their density contrasts sharply with the open, geometric fields around them.

For families from Kampli and the Ballari region, this map is a way to hold on to a specific riverbank and set of lanes. Add a family name, a village or a wedding date as the title, and set the coordinates line to mark the exact spot.
The river reads beautifully in Paper and Sand, which give it an earthy warmth. Classic black & white and Noir emphasise the dense centre, and Blueprint brings out the canal lines. All five styles are available in every size.
