Kannānendal Map Poster & Print
Kannānendal lies on the northern outskirts of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, in the flat plain of the Vaigai basin. On a map, it forms part of the city's expanding fringe. Newer residential streets are laid out in blocks, with older lanes following village paths, and open land and farmland lie in between.
Like much of the land around Madurai, the area is dotted with tanks, the traditional reservoirs that collect rainwater and supply irrigation. Their rounded outlines stand out clearly among the streets and fields. Main roads lead south towards the centre of Madurai and its famous temple city.
A Kannānendal map poster shows a neighbourhood in transition: an old village layout meeting a modern grid, with the water and fields of the plain still visible at the edges. It is a very local subject, and it makes a very personal print.

Water tanks
The traditional irrigation tanks of the Madurai plain appear as rounded shapes of water among the streets and fields, a distinctive feature of the local landscape.
Roads towards Madurai
Main roads lead south into the city of Madurai. They link this edge of the urban area to the historic centre and give the map a clear orientation.
