Branching lane network
Instead of a grid, narrow roads fork again and again through the greenery. In print this gives a dense, hand-drawn texture that works especially well in the Classic black and white style.

Kannapuram Map Poster & Print
Kannapuram lies in northern Kerala, in the Kannur district, where the coastal plain is low and the rivers are wide. From above there is no dense core. It looks like a loose web of narrow roads through thick greenery, with houses set along them rather than packed into blocks. A railway line gives the plan one of its few straight strokes.
Northern Kerala settlements often spread out like this, and a map of Kannapuram shows the pattern clearly. Lanes follow the higher ground and field edges. Water sits in channels and low ponds, and streets branch many times instead of meeting in a grid. Drawn in black and white, the result is fine and irregular, a little like leaf veins.
A Kannapuram map poster suits people who know the place from the ground: the walk to the station, a house down a particular lane, the way to the river. The printed map keeps that local geography without adding decoration. It shows a place defined by paths and water, not by monuments, and it reads well at any size.

The railway line
The coastal railway runs through the area in a long, steady line. It is one of the few straight elements on the map and gives the composition a clear axis.
Low coastal waters
Rivers, backwaters and small ponds of the Kerala coastal plain break up the street pattern. They open calm blank spaces between the clusters of lanes.

People hang Kannapuram on the wall when it is where they grew up or where family still lives. It also works as a reminder of a long stay in Kerala. The map is quiet enough for a living room or study and still personal to anyone who can find their own lane in it.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example to add a family name or a year. There are five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The digital files cost $9 and come as 300 DPI PNGs and print-ready PDFs in six sizes.
