Long straight streets divide the town into large blocks of private houses and gardens. On the poster these become a calm, regular pattern with generous spacing.

Kataysk Map Poster & Print
Kataysk is a small town in Kurgan Oblast, in the Trans-Ural region of Russia, on the Iset River. The land here is flat and open, and the streets run in long, mostly straight lines. They divide the town into broad rectangular blocks of low houses with gardens. From above the pattern is orderly but spacious, with plenty of room between buildings and few tall structures.
The Iset adds the map's one irregular element as it curves past the town in loose loops. A railway line crosses the area, and roads lead out across fields and patches of birch woodland toward neighbouring villages. It is a landscape of wide horizons. On the map, the town reads as a tidy patch of lines in a much larger open plain.
A Kataysk map poster suits someone with roots here, a family that has moved away or a traveller who remembers the quiet streets. The straight blocks and the winding river balance each other well in print. Because the layout is so simple, the finished design feels composed and almost architectural, especially in the Blueprint or Classic styles.

The Iset River
The Iset loops past the edge of town. Its soft curves provide the contrast that keeps an otherwise straight-lined composition from feeling rigid or mechanical.
Railway and roads
A railway line and several roads cross the flat land around the town, adding long straight strokes that lead the eye out toward the open plain.
