Kathhāra Map Poster & Print
Kathhāra is a town in Bokaro district in Jharkhand, part of the coalfield country of the Damodar valley region. The town grew around coal mining and processing, and from above its plan shows that history clearly. Neat rows of housing colonies sit beside industrial sites, rail lines and broad areas of mine workings, all set in undulating, partly wooded land.
A Kathhāra map poster captures the unusual mix of order and irregularity found in mining towns. Company housing forms tidy grids and parallel rows, while older settlements between them follow roads and paths more loosely. Rail sidings and haul roads add long curving lines that serve the industrial sites.
The surrounding landscape of eastern India's plateau is rolling rather than flat, cut by streams and dotted with ponds and water bodies. Between the mining areas, forest and fields remain. In black and white, the town appears as a set of distinct clusters connected by roads and rail, each with its own texture.

Rail and sidings
Rail lines and sidings curve through the area to serve the coal industry. Their long, smooth lines give the poster a strong sense of movement.
Rolling plateau
The town sits in undulating country with streams, ponds and patches of forest. These open spaces separate the clusters and frame the street pattern.
