Lehrte Map Poster & Print
Lehrte lies just east of Hanover in Lower Saxony, on flat land that made it an ideal meeting point for railways. It became one of the region's significant rail junctions in the nineteenth century, and the map still shows it: several main lines converge on the town, crossing and branching in long curves around the centre.
Around this rail hub the town grew outward, with a compact older core, twentieth-century housing and several surrounding villages that are now part of the municipality. Farmland and patches of woodland fill the spaces between them, and the Mittelland Canal passes nearby, adding another straight line of transport to the landscape.
A Lehrte map poster is shaped by infrastructure. The sweeping railway lines give the composition movement, the streets of the town cluster within the angles they form, and the open fields provide calm space around the edges. It is a strong choice for residents and for anyone who enjoys maps where railways define a place.
