Lemgo Map Poster & Print
Lemgo is an old Hanseatic town in the Lippe region of North Rhine-Westphalia, in the hill country between the Teutoburg Forest and the Weser. From above, the historic centre forms a compact oval. Its long main street runs through the middle, and a ring road follows the line of the former fortifications. The small Bega river runs along the edge, and newer districts spread across the gentle hills around it.
The town is known for its Weser Renaissance architecture: richly decorated gabled houses and public buildings from the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. The best known is the Hexenbürgermeisterhaus, linked to the town's dark period of witch trials. Brake Castle, on the Bega just outside the centre, houses a museum devoted to the Weser Renaissance.
A Lemgo map poster focuses on that clear old town shape. The ring of streets holds the dense centre, the main street forms a spine, and the river and castle sit just beyond the edge. The surrounding streets are looser and greener, so the historic oval stands out clearly at every print size.

Bega river
The small river curves around the town's edge and passes Brake Castle, softening the tight geometry of the medieval centre.
Brake Castle
Just outside the centre, the castle stands on the Bega and houses the Weser Renaissance Museum, a clear landmark on the map's edge.
