Lomita Map Poster & Print
Lomita is a compact city in the South Bay area of Los Angeles County, bordered by Torrance and set just below the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Its name means little hill in Spanish, and the map shows why. The flat, regular street grid ends at the foot of rising ground to the south, where the curving roads of the peninsula begin.
Most of Lomita is residential, with long straight blocks of single-family houses and a few commercial corridors. Pacific Coast Highway crosses the city, and it stands out as a wider, heavier line. The city is also home to the Lomita Railroad Museum, a small attraction known to rail enthusiasts across Southern California.
A Lomita map poster captures a very Los Angeles pattern: a rectilinear suburb that stops where the hills take over. At a small scale, the grid appears almost woven, while the edge where it meets the peninsula's winding streets gives the composition its most interesting line.

Pacific Coast Highway
PCH cuts through the city as a major arterial. It stands out from the local grid and connects Lomita with neighbouring South Bay communities.
Foot of the hills
To the south, the grid meets the lower slopes of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Here straight blocks give way to curving hillside roads, a change that is clear on the map.
