Lough Neagh Map Poster & Print
Lough Neagh is the largest lake by area in the British Isles, and on a map it dominates the middle of Northern Ireland. Its outline is broad and blocky rather than long, with a fairly smooth eastern shore and a more indented western side. The land around it is low, so the lake appears as a single large open shape among fields and small towns.
Its shoreline is shared by five of Northern Ireland's six counties. Several rivers flow into it, including the Upper Bann and the Blackwater, while the Lower Bann drains north toward the Atlantic. The lough is also known for its long-established eel fishery, one of the largest wild eel fisheries in Europe.
A Lough Neagh map poster works almost like a portrait of a whole region. The water sits at the centre, and the surrounding towns, roads and rivers radiate outward from it. Belfast International Airport lies near its eastern shore, and the lough's size means the surrounding road network frames it on every side.

The Bann rivers
The Upper Bann enters from the south and the Lower Bann leaves from the north, drawing a line that runs through the lake toward the coast.
Open central water
With few islands and a broad outline, the lough reads as a large clean space in the middle of the map, surrounded by fine rural linework.
