Lyepyel’ Map Poster & Print
Lyepyel’, often written Lepel, is a town in Vitebsk region of northern Belarus. It sits on the shore of Lake Lepel, and the lake dominates its map. The water forms a large irregular shape along one side of town, and the Ulla river flows out of it, carrying the line of water onward through the landscape.
The town's streets spread back from the shoreline in a mix of older, closely built blocks and later residential districts. The surrounding region is known for its many lakes and extensive forests, and the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve lies not far to the south. The countryside on the map is broken up by water and woodland.
A Lyepyel’ map poster combines the strong outline of the lake and river with the fine grain of a small town's streets. It is a quiet, well-balanced image. The water takes the weight of the composition, and the town arranges itself along the shore in a pattern shaped by the lake.

Ulla river
The Ulla flows out of the lake and winds away from town. It adds a flowing line that links the water body to the wider landscape.
Lakeshore streets
Streets fan back from the waterfront into residential districts. They follow the curve of the shore near the lake and become more regular farther inland.
