Delta coastline
The shore is a long sweep of sand broken by creeks, lagoons and tidal channels. On the map it forms a delicate, irregular edge that changes with every curve.

Machilīpatnam Map Poster & Print
Machilīpatnam lies on the coast of Andhra Pradesh, on the edge of the Krishna River delta. From above, the land is almost perfectly flat, cut by canals, drainage channels, lagoons and salt pans that give way to a long sandy shore on the Bay of Bengal. The town itself forms a compact cluster of streets set slightly back from the sea.
For centuries Machilīpatnam was one of the principal ports of the Coromandel coast. In the seventeenth century Dutch, English and French traders all operated here, and the English East India Company opened one of its first factories in India in the town. The area remains known for Kalamkari, hand-painted and block-printed textiles, and for bandar laddu.
A Machilīpatnam map poster brings together the dense old town, the roads and canals leading inland, and the intricate shoreline of creeks and lagoons. In black and white, the delta becomes a study of fine lines and pale water, with the compact town standing out against the soft edges of the coast.

Canals and channels
Irrigation canals and drainage channels cross the flat land in long lines. They give the poster a quiet structure and connect the town with the wider delta.
Old port quarter
The part of town facing the coast recalls Machilīpatnam's past as a trading port, with streets leading toward the harbour and the fishing settlements beside it.

අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
Machilīpatnam is a town with deep roots in Andhra's history, and many families trace their origins here, whether they now live in Vijayawada, Hyderabad or abroad. A map of the town and its coast is a thoughtful print for a home or a gift.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised with a family name, a street or a meaningful date. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand; Blueprint makes the delta channels especially crisp.
