Terraced old town
Streets run along the hillside in parallel bands, stacked one above another, so the historic centre looks like a series of fine contour lines on the poster.

Mardin Map Poster & Print
Mardin in southeastern Turkey is built on the southern face of a steep hill, with the citadel at the top and the old town arranged in terraces below. From above, the historic streets run in long, narrow bands along the slope, joined by stairways and passages that climb straight up between the houses.
The honey-coloured limestone houses, mosques, madrasas and churches reflect a long history shared by Arabic, Kurdish, Syriac and Turkish communities. A few kilometres away, the Syriac Orthodox monastery of Deyrulzafaran has stood for many centuries. Below the town, the plain stretches south toward the Syrian border.
A Mardin map poster turns this dramatic setting into a pattern of horizontal lines. The old town's terraced streets, the newer districts spreading behind the hill and the sudden flatness of the plain make one of the most distinctive city maps in the region.

Citadel hill
The castle crowns the top of the hill above the old town, and the roads around it bend to follow the steep, rocky ground.
Mesopotamian plain
South of the hill the land opens into a vast, level plain, an almost empty expanse on the map that makes the terraced town look even more compact.

ඇයි Mardin
අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
Mardin stays with people who have walked its stepped lanes or watched the plain from a terrace at dusk. Its layered streets make a map that is both geographic and quietly architectural.
Add a title, subtitle and coordinates of your choice, then pick one of five styles. Sand and Paper echo the golden stone, while Classic black & white and Noir emphasise the terraced lines.
