Mason City Map Poster & Print
Mason City sits on the rolling prairie of north Iowa, and its map shows a classic Midwestern street grid, divided by the Winnebago River and by Willow Creek, which winds through the city before joining it. The water brings curves and green corridors into an otherwise rectangular plan.
Downtown is arranged around Central Park, a square green space surrounded by commercial blocks. On its edge stands the Historic Park Inn Hotel, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and the last of his hotels still standing. The city also has a notable collection of Prairie School houses, several of them near the creek.
Mason City was the hometown of composer Meredith Willson, and it served as the model for River City in The Music Man. A Mason City map poster brings together grid, creek and park in a way that feels both orderly and relaxed.

Willow Creek
The creek winds through the city, softening the grid with a curving green corridor that passes near some of Mason City's Prairie School homes.
Winnebago River
The river crosses the city, adding a second natural line and breaking the regular blocks into distinct neighbourhoods on either side.
