Contour-following streets
Residential roads bend around the hillside in long arcs and loops, a pattern typical of planned hill towns that makes the map look drawn by hand rather than by ruler.

Migdal Ha‘Emeq Map Poster & Print
Migdal Ha‘Emeq, whose name means tower of the valley, sits on the hills of the Lower Galilee just southwest of Nazareth. Founded in 1953, it was planned as a new town, and the map shows it: neighbourhoods laid out in sweeping curves that follow the contours rather than a grid, each loop of road wrapping a cluster of apartment blocks and houses.
To the south the land drops away into the Jezreel Valley, a broad plain of rectangular fields crossed by straight roads and drainage lines. That meeting of two geometries, winding streets on the slope and a patchwork below, gives the town an unusually clear shape on paper. Woodland and open hillside separate the districts and leave soft gaps in the drawing.
The town has also grown into an industrial centre, with semiconductor manufacturing among its best-known employers. A Migdal Ha‘Emeq map poster sets the residential curves beside the straighter blocks of the industrial zone, a record of a place built from scratch within living memory that still carries the logic of its planners.

Jezreel Valley edge
Below the town the terrain opens onto the Jezreel Valley, where straight farm roads and regular field boundaries create a calm geometric band along the southern side.
Industrial zone
A separate district of large rectangular plots and wide access roads houses factories and technology firms, contrasting with the finer texture of the residential neighbourhoods.

People hang this map to remember a first home in Israel, a childhood on the ridge, or years spent working in the town's factories. The looping streets also make a striking graphic on their own, even for someone seeing the place for the first time.
