Mokopane Map Poster & Print
Mokopane, formerly known as Potgietersrus, lies in Limpopo Province on the main route north from Pretoria toward Polokwane. Its map shows an older town laid out in a regular grid, with newer suburbs and townships spreading around it and the land beyond opening into bushveld, farmland and low hills that rise westward toward the Waterberg.
The name recalls Mokopane, a nineteenth-century Ndebele leader. Nearby, the Makapan Valley caves are among the fossil hominid sites of South Africa listed by UNESCO, known for evidence of early human ancestors. The district is also known for platinum mining along the northern limb of the Bushveld Complex.
A Mokopane map poster balances the orderly centre against a more scattered, open landscape. The grid gives the design its structure, while the approach roads, outlying neighbourhoods and large tracts of empty land create a sense of scale that suits the wide northern horizon.

Bushveld surroundings
Beyond the suburbs the map opens into bushveld and farmland crossed by scattered roads, leaving wide pale spaces around the built-up area.
