Mount Pearl Map Poster & Print
Mount Pearl sits on the high ground just southwest of St. John's, on the Avalon Peninsula of Newfoundland. The two cities have grown into each other, so on a map the boundary is hard to see. What you do see is a close pattern of residential crescents and cul-de-sacs, a few long arterial roads, and the green line of the Waterford River running along the city's southern edge.
The city takes its name from James Pearl, a Royal Navy officer who received a land grant here in the nineteenth century. For a long time it was farmland and a quiet country retreat for families from St. John's. It became a town in the mid-twentieth century and was incorporated as a city in 1988. That growth over a few decades shows in the neat, planned look of its streets.
A Mount Pearl map poster shows a place that is suburban but not shapeless. Curving neighbourhood streets gather around schools and parks, industrial blocks sit near the highways, and the river valley is a soft break in the pattern. Printed in black and white, the map reads like a careful drawing of how a city grew up on the edge of an old harbour town.

Shared city edge
To the north and east Mount Pearl runs straight into St. John's. Streets pass from one city to the other without a break, which makes an interesting, open-edged composition.
Crescents and cul-de-sacs
Most neighbourhoods are loops, crescents and short dead-end streets branching off a few main roads. It is a typical post-war suburban pattern, and in monochrome it looks almost ornamental.

ඇයි Mount Pearl
අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
People who grew up in Mount Pearl often describe it by where it sits: next to St. John's, above the river, a few minutes from the sea. A map poster holds that sense of place. It suits someone who moved away from Newfoundland, or a family marking their first house on one of those quiet crescents.
You can add your own title, a subtitle such as a street or a year, and the coordinates line. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital download includes six print sizes. Printed posters are also available on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
