Nagalapuram Map Poster & Print
Nagalapuram lies in southern Andhra Pradesh, close to the Tamil Nadu border and within reach of both Tirupati and Chennai. On the map the town is a compact settlement on the plain, with its streets organised around the temple at its centre. Not far away, the ground rises into the wooded Nagalapuram hills.
The town is best known for the Sri Vedanarayana Swamy temple, dedicated to Vishnu in his Matsya, or fish, form. Tradition links the temple to the Vijayanagara ruler Krishnadevaraya. Each year, over several days, the rays of the setting sun reach the inner sanctum, and the event draws many pilgrims.
A Nagalapuram map poster brings together three quite different textures. There is the rectangular temple complex and the streets that follow its sides, then the patchwork of fields and tanks on the plain, and finally the rugged contours of the nearby hills, known for trekking trails and seasonal streams. In black and white the temple sits at the heart of the composition.

Hills and forest
The Nagalapuram hills rise not far from town. Their wooded slopes and stream valleys add irregular, organic shapes that contrast with the orderly streets.
Tanks and fields
Irrigation tanks and cultivated fields spread across the plain around the town. The tanks draw soft, rounded outlines of water among the straight lines of field boundaries.
