Curving residential closes
Much of the town is made up of winding roads and cul-de-sacs, which give the map a branching, almost tree-like texture rather than a regular grid.

Nailsea Map Poster & Print
Nailsea is a town in North Somerset, a short distance west of Bristol. Its map has a soft, organic outline: rather than a strict grid, the streets follow old lanes and loop into quiet residential closes. A pedestrianised shopping centre sits near the middle, and from there roads fan out toward the surrounding countryside, with the railway running just to the south.
The land around the town is low and open, crossed by drainage ditches, known locally as rhynes, that show up as thin, straight lines across the fields. Nailsea's past is industrial as well as rural: it was known for glassmaking in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, and coal was mined here, though today the town is mostly residential.
A Nailsea map poster turns this pattern of curving streets and flat fields into a clean, graphic image. The contrast between the dense town centre and the lines of the moors around it gives the print depth, and people who know the place will find their own close or lane among the branches.

Moors and rhynes
Flat moorland surrounds the town, crossed by straight drainage ditches that appear as fine lines and frame the built-up area on the poster.
Glassmaking heritage
Nailsea was once known for its glassworks, and the name Nailsea glass is still used by collectors, a quiet link between today's town and its industrial past.
