Valley floor
The town stretches along a narrow valley, so the map is long and slender instead of round. The flat ground holds the densest streets.

Nanbin Map Poster & Print
Nanbin is the seat of Shizhu, a Tujia autonomous county in the mountainous east of Chongqing municipality. The land here is steep and deeply folded, and the town has grown in one of the few places where a valley widens enough to build on. On the map the streets form a long, narrow band that follows the valley floor.
A river runs through the valley, and the main roads keep close to it. Where the slopes begin, the streets turn into switchbacks and short winding lanes, and the built-up area thins out quickly. Newer districts have been built wherever flatter ground allows, so the town appears as a series of connected clusters rather than one solid block.
A Nanbin map poster shows a town shaped almost entirely by its terrain. The river and the valley roads draw the main lines, and the mountains frame everything with empty space. It is a clear example of how settlements in this part of China adapt to the land instead of imposing a plan on it.

River line
A river runs through the centre of the valley, and the main roads keep close to it. It is the organising line of the whole town.
Mountain roads
Winding roads climb the steep slopes around the town in switchbacks. Their loops give the edges of the poster a distinctive texture.

A town in a mountain valley makes a map with strong character: a river, a narrow band of streets and slopes all around. For people from Shizhu it is also a reminder of home. The title can be written in Chinese characters, with a personal line below.
The valley stands out in Noir and Blueprint, and Paper and Sand give it a quieter feel. Classic black and white is also available. Digital files are $9, with PNGs and PDFs for all six print sizes.
