The open shoreline
The eastern edge of the map is a long, unbroken beach on the Bay of Bengal. On paper it is a smooth line with nothing built beyond it, which gives the whole layout its calm.

Neelankarai Map Poster & Print
From above, Neelankarai is long and thin. The Bay of Bengal sets a clean, almost ruler-straight edge on the east. A few hundred metres inland, East Coast Road runs parallel to the sand, heading south out of Chennai. Between the two, short residential lanes run down towards the beach, so the whole neighbourhood reads as a comb of small streets hanging off one main road.
Neelankarai was once a fishing village on the edge of the city. Today it sits inside Greater Chennai, and the map shows that change. Denser blocks cluster along the main road, while quieter plots and walled compounds sit closer to the shore. Further inland the streets become more irregular and give way to the low, wet ground around the Buckingham Canal, which runs north to south through this part of the coast.
A Neelankarai map poster keeps the drawing simple. There is the coastline, the main road, the lanes between them and the open sand. With no traffic or colour, you see what matters most here: a strip of ordinary streets pressed against the sea. Nearby Chennai beaches are known for olive ridley turtle nesting, and volunteers walk this stretch of shore at night during the nesting season.

East Coast Road
The main road out of Chennai to the south runs through Neelankarai, parallel to the coast. It is the strongest line on the map, and most of the local streets branch off it.
Lanes to the sea
Short streets run from the main road towards the beach, many of them ending at the sand. Seen together they form a regular, repeating pattern along the coast.

අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
For people who grew up here, live near the beach or spent weekends on this stretch of coast, the map captures something specific: the walk from the main road down a quiet lane to the water. It suits a home by the sea or a flat far from Chennai.
You can change the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, for example to add a family name, a house number or the date you moved in. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand pairs well with a coastal place like this one.
