Nowy Sącz Map Poster & Print
Nowy Sącz was founded in 1292 by King Wenceslaus II and grew as a royal town on the trade routes toward Hungary. It sits in a wide valley where the Kamienica flows into the Dunajec, and the map shows the old town on raised ground between the two rivers. The wooded ridges of the Beskid Sądecki rise to the south and give the surroundings a folded green outline.
At the heart of the old town lies one of the largest market squares in Poland, with the town hall in its centre. Streets leave its corners in a regular medieval pattern, and the remains of a royal castle overlook the river. On the edge of the city, the Sądecki Ethnographic Park gathers traditional wooden buildings from across the region.
A Nowy Sącz map poster frames this compact historic core against its rivers, bridges and the newer districts spread across the valley floor. Rail lines, the bends of the Dunajec and the ring of housing estates add movement to the composition, while the square stays at its steady centre. It is a map with a clear structure and a strong sense of place.

Two rivers
The Dunajec and Kamienica meet just beside the old town. Their channels and gravel banks draw curving lines that contrast with the straight medieval streets.
Beskid foothills
South of the city the land rises into the forested ridges of the Beskid Sądecki, where roads follow the valleys and settlement thins out into scattered villages.
