Ormskirk Map Poster & Print
Ormskirk is an old market town in West Lancashire, between Liverpool and Preston. Its map is built around one point: the crossroads in the centre, marked by a clock tower, where four main streets meet. From there the older streets run out in four directions, and newer housing fills the spaces between them before the town gives way to the flat, fertile farmland of the West Lancashire plain.
The town received its market charter in the thirteenth century, and markets are still held in its streets. Its parish church of St Peter and St Paul is unusual in England for having both a tower and a spire standing side by side. On the eastern side of town, the grounds of Edge Hill University add a large campus with its own layout of paths and buildings.
An Ormskirk map poster shows a clear historic cross at the centre, a band of terraced and suburban streets around it, and the curve of the bypass on the western side. Railway lines approach from the south and north, and fields fill the edges of the frame.

Edge Hill campus
The university grounds to the east form a distinct area of curving paths, buildings and green space, set apart from the tighter residential streets.
Farmland plain
Flat agricultural land surrounds the town on all sides, so the built-up area ends sharply and the poster has a clean edge of open space.

Students and graduates of Edge Hill often choose this map, as do families who have lived in West Lancashire for generations. The crossroads layout is easy to recognise and looks balanced once framed.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example to add a graduation year or a first home. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order a digital file or a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
