Patzún Map Poster & Print
Patzún is a town in the department of Chimaltenango, in the western highlands of Guatemala, on a route leading toward the Lake Atitlán area. Most of its inhabitants are Kaqchikel Maya, and the town lies at high altitude among small farms growing vegetables and maize. On the map it forms a compact, regular grid centred on the main square.
The plaza and its colonial-era church are the heart of the town, and the Spanish-style grid extends from them in blocks of fairly even size. Beyond the last streets, the landscape breaks up into small cultivated plots, footpaths and ravines typical of the highlands. Patzún is known for its Corpus Christi celebrations, when the streets are decorated with elaborate arches of produce and flowers.
A Patzún map poster shows the town's order and its surroundings together. The grid gives the centre a crisp structure, the paths and field edges scatter outward in finer lines, and the terrain leaves irregular gaps between them. It is a modest print, but a deeply familiar one for anyone from the town or who has spent time in the Chimaltenango highlands.

Colonial grid
Blocks of even size spread out from the plaza in a regular pattern, the classic Spanish colonial layout that gives the town its orderly look.
Highland plots
Around the town, small farm plots, footpaths and ravines create an irregular, finely detailed pattern that contrasts with the straight streets.
