Pendang Map Poster & Print
Pendang lies in the state of Kedah in northern Peninsular Malaysia, in the middle of a flat farming plain given over mostly to rice. From above, the landscape is strikingly regular. Paddy fields are divided by irrigation canals and drainage channels, straight roads cross the plain, and small villages line them. The town itself is a compact cluster where these roads meet.
Kedah is often called the rice bowl of Malaysia, and Pendang is typical of the district towns that serve this landscape, providing markets, schools and government offices for the villages around it. The Muda irrigation scheme shapes much of the rice land in this part of the state. Beyond these broad facts, Pendang is a quiet, rural place with a strong local identity.
A Pendang map poster turns the geometry of the rice plain into a graphic composition. The long, straight canals and roads form a strong grid across the frame, and the small town and its villages form denser points within it. It is an unusual map, quiet and structured, and a fitting portrait of a place defined by its fields and water.

Irrigation canals
Long, straight canals cross the landscape, carrying water to the fields. They are some of the strongest lines on the map, cutting across the plain in parallel.
Roadside villages
Villages line the roads leading out of town, forming thin strips of settlement between the fields. They add texture and show how people live within the rice landscape.
