Pleasant Plains Map Poster & Print
Pleasant Plains is a neighbourhood in northwest Washington, D.C., on the rise north of the old city boundary. From above, it is made of long, narrow blocks lined with rowhouses, streets running in the tight, regular rhythm typical of this part of the capital. Georgia Avenue runs along its eastern side as the main commercial spine, carrying traffic north out of the city.
Howard University sits at the southern end of the neighbourhood, and its campus breaks the residential grid with larger buildings, quads and open space. To the east lies the McMillan Reservoir, a broad shape that interrupts the street pattern. These larger footprints give the map clear landmarks within an otherwise even texture of blocks.
A Pleasant Plains map poster shows a neighbourhood scale rather than a whole city. You see individual blocks, alleys and short cross streets, as well as the diagonal pull of avenues from the wider D.C. plan. It works well for students, alumni and residents who know the area street by street.

The campus to the south replaces rowhouse blocks with larger buildings and open quads, a distinct change in texture on the print.
Rowhouse blocks
Long, narrow residential blocks with rear alleys create a fine, repeating pattern that is characteristic of this part of Washington.

People hang Pleasant Plains to remember a first apartment in D.C., years at Howard or a family home on a quiet block. At neighbourhood scale, the map feels close and familiar.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a graduation year, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Noir looks especially sharp with dense rowhouse streets.
