Dense old core
The centre is a closely packed knot of lanes and small streets, the densest part of the map and the natural focal point of the poster.

Rūdarpur Map Poster & Print
Rūdarpur lies in eastern Uttar Pradesh, in the level, intensively farmed country of the middle Gangetic plain. Land like this produces a particular kind of map. There are no hills to steer the streets, so the town grows outwards from its older core in every direction, and roads leave it straight across the fields towards neighbouring villages and market centres.
From above, the centre appears as a dense, irregular cluster of lanes, typical of an old North Indian market town, with a few wider roads carrying traffic through. Towards the edges, buildings thin out and the pattern changes to scattered plots, ponds and field boundaries. Water tanks and small ponds are common features of this landscape and appear as quiet shapes between the streets.
A Rūdarpur map poster shows the contrast between that tight core and the open farmland around it. It is a modest composition, but an honest one: a working town on the plain, drawn in fine lines with plenty of room around it.

Roads across the plain
Routes leave town in long, nearly straight lines across the flat farmland, linking it to villages and larger towns in the district.
Ponds and tanks
Small bodies of water appear in and around the town, simple rounded shapes that break up the pattern of streets and fields.

For families who come from Rūdarpur or the surrounding villages, particularly those now living far away, a map of the town is an understated way of keeping home on the wall.
Set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a family name or a date, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand gives the plain around the town a warm, earthy tone.
