Salsomaggiore Terme Map Poster & Print
Salsomaggiore Terme lies in the province of Parma, where the Po plain begins to rise into the first hills of the Apennines. The town sits in a small valley, and on a map its streets curve to follow the terrain instead of running on a grid. Avenues, parks and hotel gardens loosen the centre, and roads climb into the wooded slopes around it.
The town owes its existence to its salt-rich thermal waters, which turned it into a fashionable spa resort from the late nineteenth century. Its best-known building, the Terme Berzieri, is a showpiece of Italian Liberty and Art Deco design. For decades Salsomaggiore also hosted the national Miss Italia pageant, which made its name familiar across the country.
A Salsomaggiore Terme map poster shows a resort planned for leisure. The streets are gently curved, the green spaces are generous, and the hillside roads fan outward. The spacious centre and soft, winding edges make for an elegant, balanced print that reflects the town's refined character.

Parks and gardens
Landscaped parks and hotel grounds leave open spaces in the urban fabric. They give the map a relaxed rhythm unlike the dense cores of older Italian towns.
Foothill roads
Roads wind out of the valley into the surrounding Apennine hills, their curves tracing slopes and ridges and softening the edges of the composition.
