Valley-floor layout
The town stretches lengthwise along the valley bottom, so its main streets run parallel to the river and the overall footprint is long and narrow rather than round.

Sanchazi Map Poster & Print
Sanchazi lies in the mountainous south of Jilin province, in the wooded uplands that stretch toward the Changbai range and the border with North Korea. Here the terrain decides everything. The town occupies the floor of a valley, so its streets run in long parallel lines following the river, with shorter cross streets climbing only as far as the hillsides allow.
Much of the surrounding land is forest, and the area has long been tied to timber and forestry work. On a map this gives the town a distinctive look: a slender, elongated settlement set inside a large blank field of wooded hills, with roads threading along the valley toward neighbouring towns and villages.
A Sanchazi map poster is an unusual shape to hang on a wall, closer to a drawing of a river valley than to a typical city plan. It will speak most to people who grew up here and who remember how the hills close in around the streets at both ends of town.

River through town
A river follows the valley and gives the poster its central line, with bridges and streets arranged along both banks where the flat ground allows.
Forested slopes
Hills rise directly behind the last rows of buildings, leaving wide empty areas on the map that make the settlement's outline unusually clear and graphic.
