Sānchor Map Poster & Print
Sānchor lies in the Jalore district of Rajasthan, near the border with Gujarat and on the edge of the Thar Desert. On the map, the old town has a dense core of narrow lanes and closely packed buildings. Newer areas spread along the main roads, and the landscape beyond opens into flat, sandy country.
In recent years, water from the Narmada canal network has reached this corner of Rajasthan and changed farming in the area. On the map, canals and distributaries run in long, straight lines across the plain, dividing the land into fields. They contrast sharply with the irregular, organically grown streets of the town.
A Sānchor map poster shows a place where desert and irrigation meet. The dense old centre, the highways that make the town a regional junction and the geometric canal lines around it form a layered composition. In black and white, the contrast between organic and engineered shapes is especially clear.

Narmada canal lines
Irrigation canals from the Narmada project cross the surrounding plain in long, straight lines, dividing the land into a geometric pattern of fields.
Border-region junction
Sānchor sits close to the Gujarat border, and roads leading to both states converge here, making the town a regional hub.
