Sangrūr Map Poster & Print
Sangrūr lies on the level plains of southern Punjab, in open farming country crossed by irrigation canals. The town was once the capital of the princely state of Jind, and that history shapes its map: an older, dense core with gates and narrow lanes, surrounded by newer areas laid out more openly.
The former rulers left gardens, palaces and public buildings, including the Banasar Garden with its marble pavilion. Today Sangrūr is the district headquarters and a market centre for one of the most productive wheat and rice regions in India, with canals and field boundaries forming an almost geometric landscape around it.
A Sangrūr map poster brings out the contrast between the tight old town and the orderly land beyond it. Main roads lead out toward Patiala, Ludhiana and Bathinda in straight lines, canals run in long, even curves, and the fields beyond form a fine, regular grid.

Irrigation canals
Canals cross the plain around the town in long, smooth lines, part of the irrigation system that made Punjab India's breadbasket.
Radiating roads
Straight highways leave the town toward neighbouring cities, dividing the surrounding farmland into large, clearly defined sections.
