Sansheng Map Poster & Print
Sansheng is a town in Chongqing municipality in southwest China, in the hilly country north of the central city. The land here is broken into low ridges and valleys. On a map the town appears as a compact core of streets, with roads snaking outward along the contours toward villages and neighbouring towns.
Chongqing is known for its steep, layered landscape, and that character is clear even outside the main city. Roads rarely run straight for long, and settlements tend to follow valley floors or sit on flatter shelves of land. The result, in black and white, is a map made of curves and branching lines rather than blocks.
Like much of the area around Chongqing, the town has been shaped by rapid growth in recent decades, with new roads and buildings added alongside older rural patterns. A Sansheng map poster records that mix at one particular moment. It can be framed tightly on the town or pulled back to show the folded hills around it.

Contour roads
Outside the centre, roads curve with the terrain and follow ridges and valleys in long, looping lines that give the map a flowing texture.
Folded hills
The broken, hilly landscape typical of the Chongqing region shapes every part of the map, with settlements fitted into whatever flat ground is available.
