Santo Anastácio Map Poster & Print
Santo Anastácio lies in the far west of São Paulo state, in the region around Presidente Prudente. Like many towns in this part of Brazil, it was planned on a clear grid. Straight streets meet at right angles, the blocks are of roughly equal size, and a central square anchors the whole plan. Beyond the last streets, the map opens into farmland.
The western plateau of São Paulo was settled relatively late, in the early twentieth century, as railways pushed inland and coffee, cotton and cattle followed. Towns along these lines grew quickly and kept the orderly layout of their founding. Today the surrounding land is used mostly for pasture and crops, and small streams cross it on their way to the region's larger rivers.
A Santo Anastácio map poster is a study in regularity. The grid gives the print a clean, almost architectural quality, broken only where a stream valley or a main road cuts across it. In black and white the pattern becomes striking, a reminder of how deliberately these interior towns were planned. It is a warm choice for anyone with roots in the Oeste Paulista.

Central square
Near the middle of the grid, the main square serves as the town's traditional meeting point. The principal streets extend from it in each direction.
Rural surroundings
Past the edge of town, roads and tracks run out across pasture and cropland. Small stream valleys add soft, winding lines to the otherwise geometric plan.
