Shelton Map Poster & Print
Shelton lies on the west bank of the Housatonic River in Connecticut, facing Derby across the water. On the map, the river is the defining line: a broad dark curve with the old downtown packed along it, where a dam and a canal once powered the factories that built the town in the nineteenth century.
Moving away from the river, the plan changes quickly. The compact streets of downtown climb into residential neighbourhoods, then into the looser, curving roads of the northern part of the city, where former farmland, woods and reservoirs break the pattern. Route 8 cuts through as a firm north–south line, linking Shelton to Bridgeport and the Naugatuck Valley.
A Shelton map poster brings both halves together, the industrial riverfront and the quieter hill country above it. It suits people who grew up here, commuters who have made it home, and anyone connected to the lower Housatonic Valley. In black and white the river, its bridges and the tight downtown blocks stand out clearly against the open north.

Bridges to Derby
Short crossings link Shelton to Derby on the opposite bank, visually tying two towns together across the Housatonic in a way the map makes very clear.
Northern hill roads
North of downtown the grid loosens into long, curving roads through wooded, lightly built country, a calmer texture that balances the busy riverside.
