Hundreds of short residential streets meet at odd angles, creating a detailed, textile-like pattern that looks striking in the Noir and Classic styles.

Shomolu Map Poster & Print
Shomolu is a local government area on the Lagos mainland, between Yaba and Bariga, a short distance west of the Lagos Lagoon. On a map it is one of the densest parts of the city. Short streets branch off one another in all directions, blocks are small and irregular, and the few larger roads stand out because they are almost the only continuous lines.
The area is best known across Nigeria for its printing trade. Small presses, binders and designers have clustered here for decades, producing everything from wedding cards to election posters, and the name Shomolu is closely linked with print in Lagos. That makes it a fitting subject for a printed map.
A Shomolu map poster captures that close-grained texture. Printed in black and white, the neighbourhood becomes a fine mesh of lanes that is almost woven, with the edge of the lagoon and the bridges of the mainland on one side. It is a portrait of a place built at a human scale, one plot and one street at a time.

Lagoon to the east
The Lagos Lagoon lies just beyond the neighbouring districts. At wider framings its broad, empty surface contrasts sharply with the busy streets of the mainland.
Arterial roads
A handful of main roads cut through the neighbourhood and link it to Yaba, Bariga and the rest of Lagos. They act as the landmarks your eye follows across the sheet.
