The Sunzha River
The river that gave the town its name crosses the map as a soft, irregular line. Its wooded banks contrast with the straight streets on either side.

Sunzha Map Poster & Print
Sunzha takes its name from the river that runs past it, a tributary of the Terek that crosses the foothill plains of the North Caucasus. The settlement began in the nineteenth century as a Cossack stanitsa called Sleptsovskaya. It took its current name and gained town status much more recently. On a map it looks low and widely spread, with residential blocks meeting farmland on almost every side.
From above, the most distinctive feature is the regular street pattern typical of a former stanitsa. Wide parallel roads divide the land into generous plots, each of which once held a house, a yard and a garden. The river and its line of trees cut across this order, and a railway adds another straight stroke. A Sunzha map poster keeps these layers clear, so the planned grid and the natural watercourse sit side by side.
The mountains of the Greater Caucasus rise to the south, beyond the frame of a town-scale map. You sense them mainly through the direction of the rivers and roads. What remains on paper is a quiet, legible composition: a residential town with a working river, broad blocks and fields pressing in at the edges, drawn in fine black lines on a pale ground.

Stanitsa street grid
Long parallel streets and deep plots are a legacy of the Cossack settlement plan. From above they create a steady rhythm that reads almost like ruled paper.
Fields at the edges
Farmland surrounds the town on most sides, so the built area ends in a clear outline. This gives the poster a strong, self-contained silhouette.
