Takahama Map Poster & Print
Takahama is a small city in central Aichi Prefecture, on the eastern shore of Kinuura Bay, an inlet of Mikawa Bay south of Nagoya. It covers a compact area. From above, closely packed residential streets fill the low ground, bordered on the west by reclaimed land and the straight lines of the waterfront.
Takahama is known for kawara, the fired clay roof tiles of the Mikawa region, which have been made here since the Edo period. The city's tile museum and the ornamental onigawara figures around town reflect a craft that still shapes local industry and gives the place a quietly distinctive character.
A Takahama map poster brings out the contrast between the older, irregular streets and the geometric blocks of reclaimed industrial land along the bay. A rail line runs roughly parallel to the shore, and the water forms a calm edge on one side of the composition, so the layout reads easily at any size.

Dense old streets
Inland, narrow and irregular streets pack the older neighbourhoods closely together. Their fine, intricate texture contrasts with the waterfront blocks.
Rail corridor
A rail line runs through the city roughly parallel to the shore. It draws a steady line across the map that both separates and connects the districts.
