Irrigated fields cover the plain in all directions. Their boundaries and channels create a fine, even texture across most of the print.

Talavera Map Poster & Print
Talavera lies in Nueva Ecija, in the middle of the broad Central Luzon plain that is often described as the rice granary of the Philippines. From above, the landscape is almost completely flat. Irrigated paddies spread out in every direction, divided by embankments, farm roads and small irrigation channels. The town centre is a compact cluster of streets at a crossing of main roads.
Farming defines the rhythm of the place, and the fields change through the planting and harvest seasons. Neighbouring towns in the province are known for agricultural research and trade, and Talavera shares that rural economy. The Talavera map poster turns the plain into a fine, repeating pattern of lines with a denser urban core in the centre.
Because the land is so level, the map has almost no curves from hills or valleys. Everything is drawn by human effort: roads laid straight across the paddies, clusters of barangays along them, and channels that carry water to the fields. In monochrome it looks close to a textile, orderly and quietly detailed.

Crossroads town centre
The town grew where main provincial roads meet. The central streets form a tight, busy cluster at the heart of the flat landscape.
Barangay road lines
Smaller settlements stretch along the farm roads that lead away from the centre. They look like beaded lines reaching across the plain.
