Tavira Map Poster & Print
Tavira sits on both banks of the Gilão river, a few kilometres from the Atlantic in Portugal's eastern Algarve. The old town climbs a small hill on the western bank, where the ruins of a castle look over tiled roofs and church towers. Across the water, streets spread out on flatter ground towards the lagoon.
The town is known for its many churches and for the old bridge across the Gilão, often called the Roman bridge, although its current form is medieval and later. Seaward, the Ria Formosa lagoon system separates the mainland from Ilha de Tavira, a long barrier island of beaches reached by boat.
A Tavira map poster is unusually rich in water. The river winds through the centre, the salt pans form a geometric pattern of rectangles to the south, and the lagoon channels break the coast into islands and sandbanks. Around them, the dense old streets hold the historic heart.

Salt pans
South of the town, rectangular salt evaporation ponds form a precise grid, a striking contrast with the curving channels of the lagoon.
Ria Formosa
Lagoon channels, marshes and the long barrier of Ilha de Tavira shape the coast, filling the lower part of the map with fine detail.

ඇයි Tavira
අර්ථයක් ඇති සිතියමක්
Tavira is often the Algarve town people come back to, for its river, its quiet squares and the ferry to the island. A map of it holds all of that in one view and makes a thoughtful reminder of time spent there.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, or add the date of a wedding or a first visit. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand suit the warm light of the Algarve.
