Padang River
The river winds through the town. Its bends and bridges divide the street network into districts on each bank and give the map a natural centre line.

Tebingtinggi Map Poster & Print
Tebingtinggi is in North Sumatra, on the main road between Medan and Pematangsiantar. It is a compact town that is completely surrounded by Serdang Bedagai Regency. On a map the urban area forms a fairly tight shape, with the Padang River winding through it and a tight network of streets on either side.
Around the edges of the town, the land is taken up by plantations, mainly oil palm and rubber. They appear as large blocks crossed by regular estate roads. A railway line passes through the town, and main roads leave it in several directions, linking it to the coast and to the highlands. This has long made Tebingtinggi a crossroads town for the region.
A Tebingtinggi map poster has a clear structure: a river curving through the middle, dense streets on both banks, and ordered plantation blocks all around. Because the town is small, the poster can include the whole urban area. It gives a complete picture of the place and not just a crop from a larger city.

Crossroads location
Main roads to Medan, Pematangsiantar and the coast meet in the town. From the compact core, they spread out as long lines in several directions.
Plantation blocks
Around the town, estates are divided into regular blocks by straight access roads. This forms a geometric pattern that contrasts with the dense town streets.
